Corporate Partners

The Department of Chemical Engineering has a long history of outstanding interactions with corporate sponsors in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and energy-related industries. This past year, more than 100 companies came to Penn State to recruit our students for full-time, coop, and summer intern positions (see complete list under Employment Data).

In 2006, the Department received a $2,000,000 gift from the Dow Chemical Company to support innovative research and teaching activities in Chemical Engineering through the establishment of The Dow Chemical Company and Larry Duda Excellence in Chemical Engineering Fund -- this is the largest corporate endowment ever received at Penn State. The Department is also actively involved with the Learning Factory, a program that provides undergraduates an opportunity to work on multidisciplinary industry-sponsored design projects.
