Five-Year Plan
Some students decide to give themselves five years to complete the Chemical Engineering degree. If you are one of them, begin planning now in order to maximize the benefits of staying in school longer. In a ten-semester plan, the average number of credits per semester is 13.4, since 134 credits are required for graduation in Chemical Engineering. This means you have room for approximately 3 extra credits per semester, or 30 extra credits by the time you graduate.
A nice way to put these credits into good use is to pursue one or more minors. Information about some minors can be found on the minors page of this Handbook. There are many more minors than those covered here and the best place to start is an appointment with your adviser.
