PSES Awards

Ruth Smith has been named the recipient of a prestigious Penn State Engineering Society (PSES) Outstanding Staff Award for 2008. The competition for these awards is incredibly high given the quality of staff across the College.

The Department Head Andrew Zydney said, "This is truly a wonderful honor and recognition of all of Ruth's contributions to the Department." Dr. Darrell Velegol, a faculty member in Chemical Engineering, said, "Ruth's dedication to serving each student with dignity really inspired me to do the same with my undergrad and PhD students."

An Awards Ceremony will be held in the Kunkle Activities Center in Hammond Building on Friday, April 11 at 1:30. Ruth's award comes only two years after Sue Ellen Bainbridge won this same award in 2006, demonstrating the excellence of the staff in Chemical Engineering.
