How to Apply - Domestic Applicants


You will fill out the graduate school and department applications. Three letters of recommendation [forms below] are mailed to the department. The official transcripts are also mailed from your university. You will request that your GRE scores are sent to Penn State.

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to download some of the applications below. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you may download it now.

1. Graduate School Application

2. Department Application

3. Graduate Record Examinations (G.R.E.)

All applicants are required to take the GRE general test. There is no minimum score requirement to be considered for admission. The GRE score is viewed as one among a number of criteria used to evaluate the application. Applicants will not be evaluated without the receipt of official GRE scores.

4. Three Letters of Recommendation

Complete the top of the form and give them to three recommenders. Recommenders should seal letters in an envelope and sign along the seal before returning to the applicant. The Letters of Recommendation form is available below in PDF or Microsoft Word format.

5. Two official transcripts

Applicants must arrange for two official transcripts to be sent from all schools at the B.S. level and higher.
