1993 A corporate and securities lawyer as well as a chemical engineer, Mr. Holmes brought a group of investors together in 1978 to form Asset Management Associates in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Subsequently, the group purchased a seat on the New York Stock Exchange and established the New York office. Mr. Holmes moved the company base to New York in 1983. Before founding Asset Management Associates, Mr. Holmes had a career as a research engineer. While working on his master's degree at Penn State, he was a research assistant in the Petroleum Research Laboratory. He went on to become a research associate at the Cities Service Oil Company, University Campus in Tulsa. He earned his Juris Doctor of Law degree from the University of Tulsa, evening division, during this period. From 1969 to 191, Mr. Holmes was the patent counsel for the Cities Service Oil and Gas Companies. Holmes left Cities Service in 1971 and began the practice of law in Tulsa. He practiced from 1971 to 1978 in various capacities, culminating in a private legal practice, specializing in corporate real estate and securities law. He was a founding partner in Doyle, Holmes, Gasaway, Green & Harris Partnership of Legal Professional Corporations. Mr. Holmes is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the American Society of Chemical Engineers, the American Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is a resgistered professional enginneer in Pennslyvania and Oklahoma. Mr. Holmes is also a registered financial principle with the N.A.S.D. and an associate member of the New York Stock Exchange.
