John Green is a multfaceted chemical engineer who help develop and market sophisticated process technologies and cataysts on a world wide basis. Following graduation from Penn State, he served as a first lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineerings. He began work with Mobil Research and Development Corporation at their Paulsboro Laboratory, in 1971, as a research engineer, progressing to senior research engineer and supervising engineer. There he became involved in process development and technical service for refining and petrochemical processes, and participated in the development and commercialization of many of Mobil's uniques ZSM-5 technologies.

In 1981, Green moved to the Mobil Chemical Company to become manager of process development. He ultimately was responsible for planning, supplying, and engineering in the chemical products division which manufactures speciality chemical products. In his current position, to which he was appointed in 1987, he is responsible for Mobil's worldwide catalyst and licensing business.

Green is an active supporter of interaction between academia and industry. He assists the College student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineering, and, through his efforts, Mobil supports graduate student attendance at national meetings. He has served on the College Industrial and Professional Advisory Council since 1988. Green's interest in youth extends to his community where he is a Little/Babe Ruth League Baseball Coach, a basketball referee and a church youth group leader.
