Remigius A. Gaska

Since joining the Dow Chemical Company more than twenty-five years ago, Dr. Gaska has risen through teh management of the company, making major contributions in research and developent, process engineering, and manufacturing and production. He has served as laboratory director for both chemical engineering and environmental research and as major manager for two different divisions. He was named major production manager for the Louisiana Division in 1984 and is responsible for choralkali production and power/utilities.

Dr. Gaska's continued support of Penn State has been exemplary. He has been the primary advocate for the University within Dow, and, for sixteen years, has been the company's main recruiter of Penn State graduates, particularly engineers. Dr. Gaska also has been instrumental in acquiring Dow support for Penn State, including the establishment of a professorship in the Department of Chemical Engineering, as well as an unrestricted grant, an undergraduate scholarship, and summer jobs for students.

In addition to his role in the establishment of strong ties between Penn State and Dow, Dr. Gaska has demonstrated his commitment to the University through personal contributions and through his service on the college's Industrial and Professional Advisory Council.
