Ted T. Szabo

In addition to fulfilling his executive responsiblilities as the Union Carbide Corporation's president for specialty polymers and composites, Dr. Szabo is committed to maintaining his technical expertise in the field of chemical engineering.

Associated with Union Carbide for twent-five years, he began his career there as a research engineer and has held such key positions as director of research and development in chemicals and plastics, operations manager for performance resins and acrylates, and president for specialty chemicals and plastics. He has been president for specialty chemicals polymers and composites since 1982. He is author or coauthor of more than ten publications. A firm supporter of the Penn State Department of Chemical Engineering since his graduation, Dr. Szabo has been insturmental in encouraging excellent researchers to join the departmet's faculty.

He is a member of a variety of professional and honor societies, including the American Chemical Society, the Society of Chemical Industry, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and Phi Lambda Upsilon. In addition to his Penn State Doctoral degree, he has an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut.
